Environment Committee

Below are some key contributions that are expected to be carried out:

1. Serve as a resource to the Executive Director and the Board in your areas of expertise

2. to make recommendations on developing plans, policies, programs (locally) that can have an impact on the environment

3. To develop policies on matters relating to the natural environment for consideration by Board

4. To consider issues relating to the natural environment where the Trust has been invited or expected to provide a response such as developments and planning matters that impinge on the natural environment; activities that could impact adversely on designated protected areas; on wildlife, biodiversity, habitats, waterways and seacoasts; on air and soil quality; visual and other sensory impacts; and any other impacts that would reasonably be considered as affecting the natural environment.

5. Providing representation for the Trust on external committees and at consultations within your area of expertise Each committee consists of persons who have volunteered their time, energy, passion and skills to build our organisation. To that end, communication between committee members is of utmost importance and the relationships with each other are the foundation for the powerful change-making possibilities that we wish to achieve.
